Endocrinology – Diabetes

The endocrine system and the hormones secreted by this system constitute the field of endocrinology. Chemical substances that carry stimuli from the environment to the organism and mediate the relationship and communication between cells are called “hormones”.

“Metabolism” is defined as the transformation process that enables the nutrients taken into the body to be converted into the necessary energy through a series of reactions or to make the substances required for the body. Hormones, especially those secreted by the pancreas, play an important role in the regulation of metabolism.

Our department, which carries out studies for the diagnosis and treatment of all health problems related to endocrinology and metabolism, draws attention with its experienced healthcare staff and equipment, especially for diseases that require long-term follow-up.

Along with our physicians, the role of our diabetes nurses is also very important in the care of patients with diabetes. In addition to providing special training to our patients in terms of diabetes follow-up and insulin use, they also take part in their follow-up. The pump follow-up of our Type 1 diabetic patients who use pumps is also meticulously carried out by our nurses experienced in this field. Diabetes progression of patients is ensured by using continuous glucose monitoring systems.
